Xiaomi has just launched the Mi Max 2, the second generation of the Mi Max phablet in India at a price of Rs 16,999. The phone which sports a huge 6.44-inch display now also houses a large 5,300 mAh battery and will be available exclusively on 2o July, 2017 starting at 12:00 PM till 21 July, 2017 during the 3rd Mi anniversary sale on Mi home and Mi.com. Post the Mi Anniversary sale, the phone will be available on popular e-commerce platforms Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall and Tata Cliq and also across all the offline partners of Xiaomi starting from 27 July.
The 6.44-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display on the Mi Max 2 features a curved glass screen and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with an Adreno 506 GPU. The phablet by Xiaomi which weighs 211 grams packs in a 5,300 mAh battery (staying true to its ‘Max’ tag) comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that should make charging a lot more faster than the older Mi Max.
The Mi Max 2 comes with 64 GB internal storage coupled with 4 GB RAM. The storage is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone will run the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Xiaomi’s MIUI atop.
In terms of the camera, the Mi Max 2 features a Sony IMX 386 sensor, which is capable of capturing 12-megapixel images aided by phase detection autofocusing (PDAF) and a dual-tone LED flash. The front camera is also capable of pulling off 5-megapixel selfies.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has a micro USB 2.0 port, FM radio, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n along with hotspot functionality as connectivity options.
