Airtel extends 30GB free data offer for postpaid users by another 3 months

Bharti Airtel has extended its “Holiday Surprises” offer, launched in March which included 30GB of free data for all postpaid users. The offer was initially intended to end with the June billing cycle but will now continue for another three months. Government to take corrective steps to ensure orderly growth of the telecom sector

Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said “corrective steps” would be taken by the government to ensure orderly growth of the telecom sector, after he met representatives of telecom companies here on Thursday. “The necessary corrective steps will be taken by the government for ensuring orderly growth in the sector in terms of services to the common man, including in rural areas,” the minister told reporters after the two-hour meeting. Inter Ministerial Group and telecom companies to discuss the stressed health of telecom sector

The much-awaited meeting between the government and the telecom companies to evolve a resolution to the stressed health of the sector was held here on 22 June. Representatives of telecom companies Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Reliance Jio and Reliance Communications met Communications Minister Manoj Sinha and Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan besides other government officials in the ministry.
